Regarding the treatise's statement, 'The five particulars arise from four objective affairs, namely, what is cherished,' etc.: 'what is cherished' is the basis of desire (chanda); 'ascertained' is the basis of resolve (adhimokṣa); 'habitually practiced' is the object of mindfulness (smṛti); 'investigated' is the basis of two [mental factors (samādhi and prajñā)], as stated in the treatise.
