15.31

「問：眼耳識耳中，眾緣生故，剎那滅故，無作用故」者，初非自然生故見；非次常故得見；無作用法，非法吠世師等作用故，不能實見。

Regarding 'Question: In the eye, ear, and [eye and] ear consciousnesses, because they arise from a multitude of conditions, because they perish in an instant, because they lack agency': first, because they do not arise naturally, seeing occurs; second, it is not because they are permanent that they are able to see; phenomena devoid of agency, because they lack the agency [asserted by] the non-Buddhists such as the Vaiśeṣikas, cannot really see.
