16.83

論云「若依清淨色識所行，名現量」者，此中但取五識名現量，其實與俱緣意亦是，今取所行，即五塵是，故不舉意根也。前言現在名有事者，此總言取現在中理義等所行者。

The treatise says, "If it is the domain of consciousness based on pure rūpa, it is called direct perception": here, it takes only the five consciousnesses as direct perception; in truth, the mental consciousness operating concurrently with them is also such, but here taking the domain, it is just the five sense-objects, and so the mental faculty is not mentioned. When it was said earlier that the present is called "existing things," this generally refers to what is within the range of principles, meanings, and so on among present [phenomena].
