Enjoyment has three kinds; the above explained the enjoyment of suffering and pleasure. Second is the enjoyment of food and drink: first in general, then in detail. "Sentient beings about to be born" refers to the intermediate existence. "Sentient beings already born" refers to existence in the five destinies. This shows that those who have transcended the three realms do not rely on the four foods. In the detailed explanation there are two points: namely, the coarse and subtle aspects according to realms and destinies. The desire realm has sleep and so forth, and therefore relies on kavaḍīkārāhāra; the upper two realms do not have it.
