Among the six kinds of receiving gifts: "receiving for study" means that when studying the three trainings, one should receive gifts. "Sustaining life" means urgently saving life in times [of distress]. "Renunciation" means that when one wishes to receive gifts to practice the joy of giving and has nothing of one's own, one should receive another's gift; otherwise, one would have nothing. "Sojourning" means receiving what is needed when one has no dwelling. "Indulgent attachment" means receiving gifts out of stinginess, hoarding, and longing to receive. The first five should be received; the last one should not.
