業位中，「由耎不善業生傍生中」等者，《十地經》說中品生畜生，耎品生餓鬼。與此不同。鬼有二種：一福德、二薄福，此據薄福中品，彼據福德故下品。亦不相違

Regarding the stages of karma, in 'being born among animals through weak unwholesome karma', etc.: the Daśabhūmika-sūtra states that the middling grade leads to birth as an animal, and the weak grade leads to birth as a hungry ghost. This differs from that. Ghosts are of two kinds: first, meritorious; second, destitute. Here it is based on the destitute of the middling grade; that text was based on the meritorious, hence the lower grade. Thus they do not contradict each other.
