「由此因緣，彼行勝異相續為轉，名習氣」者，即此習氣行之勝異相續間斷、隱顯、細麁、緣不緣、礙不礙等，有差別故。

"Due to this cause and condition, the superior and distinct continuation of those formations turns, which is called vāsanā": this is because this vāsanā has distinctions such as the continuation of formations being superior or distinct, interrupted or uninterrupted, concealed or manifest, subtle or coarse, cognising or not cognising, obstructed or unobstructed, and so forth.
