In the sixth challenge concerning saṃsāra and nirvāṇa, regarding "Among conditioned factors (saṃskāra), this characteristic of transmigration is found, as in the body, a sprout, a river, a lamp, a vehicle" and so forth: this means that just as transmigration is found among the conditioned factors of the body, external phenomena such as sprouts, rivers, lamps, and vehicles, though having no self, also transmigrate; therefore, why must there be a self for the body to transmigrate? The formal inference is: The transmigration of the internal body definitely has no self; because there is transmigration; just like a sprout, a river, and so on.
