Regarding “The intrinsic nature of giving is the bodily and vocal karma produced by intention that can relinquish objects given”: The Abhidharma-samuccaya and the Vijñaptimātratāsiddhi both take the three karmas, taking intention together with non-attachment as the nature. Here, non-attachment is stated as the causal condition, and intention is mentioned under the aspect of co-arising; therefore, within intrinsic nature, bodily and vocal karma are taken. In terms of external manifestation, discussing it generally across the three vehicles, only body and speech are mentioned, not mental karma. In the intrinsic nature of morality, the three karmas are taken as its nature, so it says “bodily and vocal karma, etc.” As stated in the Vijñaptimātratāsiddhi, because one undertakes the bodhisattva precepts, it applies to all three karmas. Regarding “The bases extend to both sentient and insentient”: Because natural morality and prescriptive morality, as appropriate, extend to both bases.
