Among the five kinds of Mahāyāna, the eighth fascicle of the Prakaraṇāryavācā says: the seed corresponds to the Gotra Chapter of the Bodhisattvabhūmi; entering corresponds to the Bodhicittotpāda Chapter; sequence corresponds to the Vihāra Chapter; correct practice corresponds to the remaining chapters; and the fruit of correct practice corresponds to the Mahānirvāṇa and Pratiṣṭhā Chapters. "Initial resolve" refers to the bodhicitta, which exists because there is a seed; "compassion for sentient beings" is entering bodhi; "pāramitās" are the sequences of the various bhūmis; "acts of gathering sentient beings" is the correct practice of the Mahāyāna; "maturation of one's own and others' continuities" is the fruit of correct practice, because the fulfillment of the results of the two benefits constitutes the Buddha's virtues. / Furthermore: "initial" refers to the seed; "resolve" refers to entering; "compassion for sentient beings" refers to the sequence; "pāramitās and acts of gathering sentient beings" refers to correct practice; and "maturation of one's own and others' continuities" refers to the fruit of correct practice. This explains it by matching the chapters in accordance with the Bodhisattvabhūmi.
