涅槃為上首中，初標，次釋，後結廣義。中分二：初釋涅槃為上首相、後釋由此獲五勝利。初文復二：初總明涅槃為首，聽聞正法，不為餘緣；後以十轉釋以為首。後中有二：初標十轉，二涅槃為首；後釋十轉。

In “having nirvāṇa as the foremost”, first it indicates, next it explains, and finally it concludes the expanded meaning. It is divided into two: first, explaining the characteristics of having nirvāṇa as the foremost; next, explaining the five superior benefits obtained thereby. The first text again has two: first, generally explaining having nirvāṇa as the foremost when listening to the true Dharma, and not for any other reason; next, explaining having it as the foremost through the ten evolutions. In the latter there are two: first, indicating the ten evolutions and the two [aspects of] nirvāṇa as foremost; next, explaining the ten evolutions.
