「唱令家者，謂屠羊」等者，西域有人，專行唱令，凡有罪者，皆彼人將往巡歷，處處唱告，如唱屠羊等，多造惡業故。　「羯恥那」者，謂典獄之類。

Regarding 'A crier, meaning a sheep butcher' and so forth: in the Western Regions there are people who exclusively carry out public crying. Whenever someone is guilty of a crime, that person takes them on a tour, making announcements everywhere, just like announcing sheep butchers and the like, because they commit many evil deeds. 'Kaṭhina' refers to the class of prison officers.
