論云「猶如一切名、句、文身，是所制造文章、呪術、異論根本」者，文章、異論必依名、句等方成，今聲聞行必依此相應教法，教法為彼根本，如名、句等。

Regarding the treatise's statement, "Just as all collections of names, phrases, and phonemes are the basis for composed writings, incantations, and heterodox treatises": writings and heterodox treatises can only be accomplished by relying on names, phrases, and so forth; here, the practice of the śrāvaka must rely on this corresponding doctrinal teaching, the doctrinal teaching being their basis, just like names, phrases, and so forth.
