The passage from "All these are called the Śrāvakabhūmi" below summarizes the single stage; but because the text is brief, it is appended to the fourth Yogasthāna. Regarding the statement, "Just as all collections of names, phrases, and syllables are the root of composed writings, incantations, and divergent treatises": Ji says that writings and divergent treatises are accomplished only by relying on names, phrases, and so forth; now the śrāvaka practice likewise relies on this appropriate teaching, and the teaching serves as their root just like names, phrases, and so forth. We now explain: this briefly distinguishes the Śrāvakabhūmi as the root of the extensive teachings associated with śrāvakas.
