'Ten kinds of assemblies of sentient beings take delight and joy in ten kinds of dharmas': they can be known by matching them in sequence; the meaning is evident and easily understood. 'Initiating karma has three kinds: first, initiating through association', which is simultaneous arising; 'second, initiating through direct generation', which is proximate-cause arising; 'third, initiating through predominance', which refers to distant-cause arising. It further induces other afflictions to initiate karma. Or, the previous ones have already subsumed everything, and the fourth, predominance, gives rise to even more afflictions before initiating [karma]. The above four fascicles, from the fifty-eighth onward, cover the three bhūmis of coarse examination, subtle investigation, and so forth.
