Regarding “Karma of one in training refers to, if an ordinary being”, etc.: This means that when ordinary beings generate the mind of the three vehicles and [cultivate] wholesome roots conducive to liberation, from that point on they are all called those in training. The karma of one in training applies to both contaminated and uncontaminated; the same applies to those beyond training. Regarding “Neither in training nor beyond training”: This refers to all karma in the stage of ordinary beings prior to generating the aspiration. In Fascicle 66, only noble ones are called those in training because of realizing superior attainment; this text combines them on the basis of their underlying support. Innately acquired wholesome roots and the like of a practitioner in training are also called karma of one in training; if not so, they would not be, because they would not accord with that stage.
