Regarding the śāstra and sūtra's explanation of obtaining the joy and bliss born of separation: "'Separation' means having already obtained the manaskāra of culminating praxis; 'born' means that it is immediately born taking this as cause and taking this as condition; 'joy and bliss' means having already obtained the sought-after purpose": this is stated in terms of a person of sharp faculties whose ninth path of liberation enters the fundamental dhyāna, hence it says they generate joy and bliss. If it is a person of dull faculties, their ninth path of liberation resides in the preparatory concentration, and only afterward can they enter the fundamental stage and generate joy and bliss.
