「此論三分成立唯識」下，是即第三、釋結施願分，此乃判彼釋文有斯三分。就初分中，此初一頌，彼護法等歸敬福田，憑力求護，投誠述己，彰釋論因。次諸長行，即安慧等，明論本師為令含識得勝果等，製論本頌造論之由，此即分別不同科也。

From “These three parts of the treatise establish vijñapti-mātra…” onwards is the third part, the “section of concluding explanation and dedicating vows.” Thus the text of that commentary is divided into these three sections. Within the first section, this initial verse is where Dharmapāla and the others take refuge in and pay homage to the field of merit, seeking protection by relying on its power, and express their own sincere intent, revealing the reason for commenting on the treatise. The prose that follows is where Sthiramati and others clarify the root author of the treatise's reasons for composing the root verses of the treatise, in order to enable sentient beings to obtain superior fruits, and so forth; this is to distinguish the differing sectional headings.
