述曰：初發論端，略以五門解釋：一、辨教時、機；二、明論宗、體；三、藏乘所攝；四、說教年主；五、判釋本文。

The Commentary states: At the very beginning of the treatise, an explanation is briefly given through five sections: first, distinguishing the period of the teaching and the capacity of the audience; second, clarifying the main doctrine and the essence of the treatise; third, the canon and vehicle by which it is subsumed; fourth, the time and master of the spoken teaching; fifth, evaluating and explaining the main text.
