述曰：斷位次中，初總即二障；後別解釋。此即初也。體性寬狹更無別異，十地所斷雖但所知，俱品不行即通二障。

[The Commentary states:] In the stages of severing, first it is stated generally that they are just the two obstructions, and then they are explained individually. This is the first. In terms of their intrinsic natures, whether broad or narrow, there is no difference; although what is severed on the ten grounds is only the cognitive obstruction, because both kinds cease to be active, this applies to both obstructions.
