The Commentary states: This manifest form of yours is also not visible color, nor smell or taste, because it lacks indication, as should be understood by analogy with tangible objects. Furthermore, although the fragrance of the world of the Accumulation of Fragrance (Gandhahastin / Sarvagandhasugandha) has indication, it does not belong to this world, nor is it accepted by them, for here sound is used to perform the Buddha's work, whereas they do not accept fragrance as manifestation. A second explanation says: Moreover, that is not manifestation; it is merely that upon smelling the fragrance one awakens to the Path by oneself—how could it be that fragrance indicates good or evil? This is like seeing the Buddha's visible color and thereupon recollecting the Buddha, or touching an object and knowing good and evil; how could visible color and so forth be considered manifestation?
