The treatise negates color, odor, and taste. The logical argument is: "Your color-form, as well as odor and taste, should not be intimation (vijñapti); because they are solely indeterminate; like earth, water, and fire." Although in our own school odor and taste do admit of intimation, it is nominal intimation and does not extend to good or evil; the intention is to refute the other's real intimation of bodily action (kāyavijñapti), which furthermore is good or evil. They themselves admit that odor, taste, and touch are solely indeterminate. Furthermore, following the treatise commentary, one should say: "Your intimation-form is also not color, nor odor or taste; because it lacks manifestation, like touch"; this is because they admit it.
