第十善等五識既非業感，應無眼等為俱有依，如色、聲等。此上別破等二師訖，然護法論師假為此救，非用彼義。故下正義護法所說，即今西方正法藏等解此文云：護法菩薩業招眼等五色根勝。根從緣稱，說彼為業，實有別根。

The Commentary states: Tenth: since wholesome and other five consciousnesses are not produced by karma, they should lack the eye and so forth as co-arising supports, like form, sound, and so on. The above completes the separate refutation of the two masters. Dharmapāla the treatise master hypothetically presented this defense, but did not adopt that meaning. Therefore the orthodox meaning below is stated by Dharmapāla. As the Western master of the treasury of the True Dharma and others currently explain this passage: Bodhisattva Dharmapāla states that karma summoning the five physical faculties such as the eye is superior. The faculties are named after their condition, calling them karma, but in reality there are separate faculties.
