4. The member of name-and-form has two kinds of essences: first, all sāsrava five aggregates are this essence, extending to both matured and non-matured, as stated in fascicle 93. Furthermore, the five material sense-faculties, the great elements on which the faculties rely, the great elements in the locus of the faculties, all derived matter, and all remaining names are all subsumed under name-and-form. Fascicle 9 of the Great Treatise states: the aggregate of feeling, the aggregate of perception, the aggregate of formations, the aggregate of consciousness, the ten material sense-bases, the matter of the dharma sense-base, and so forth, are all the member of name-and-form. This treatise states below: "Or, the seeds of name-and-form generally subsume the five causes, among which the remaining four kinds are established according to their prominence." It broadly takes all three natures as its essence. If one relies on this treatise and various other treatises, it broadly takes the matured and the other natures.
