八、愛支，唯取愛數一法為體，《大論》第十初云：愛謂三界愛，亦通現、種。《十地論》說故。此論下文云：愛支與取得為因緣，非現望現體是因緣故，愛種、現為此支體。

Eighth, the branch of craving (tṛṣṇā) takes exclusively the single mental factor of craving as its entity. The tenth fascicle of the Great Treatise [Yogācārabhūmi-śāstra] says at the beginning: 'Craving means craving in the three realms.' It also encompasses both the manifest [state] and seeds, because the Daśabhūmika-śāstra says so. A later passage of this treatise states: 'The branch of craving and [the branch of] grasping are causal conditions for each other.' Because one manifest [state] with respect to another manifest [state] cannot in its entity be a causal condition, both seeds and manifest [states] of craving constitute the entity of this branch.
