The Commentary states: From here below is the third part, citing scriptural proof, which has three aspects: first, citing a sūtra common to both contaminated and uncontaminated; next, citing a sūtra exclusively on the uncontaminated; and finally, by analogy, showing contaminated seeds to be the same. The Mahāyānasūtrālaṃkāra also cites this sūtra, calling it the Akṣayamati; this is a sūtra believed in common by the three vehicles, and this passage is also found in the earlier portion of the Mahāvibhāṣā and other texts. Since it says that from beginningless time there are various 'realms' (dhātus), we know that both contaminated and uncontaminated seeds exist naturally from beginningless time. The shape of the akṣa seed is like a soapberry nut; when falling to the ground, they mostly cluster together, hence it is used as a metaphor.
