The Commentary states: If one is born in another sphere, either above or below, or enters [nirvāṇa] without remainder, the remaining corpse is still seen to continue. Otherwise, there should be no remaining corpse, because one would be incapable of manifesting another's physical support. From this, one knows that it manifests another's physical support, just like being born with the two indriyas of nose and tongue in the form realm. How is this reconciled? The body is manifested for one's own sentient being: without indriyas, the support is also absent. Another's dusts are not one's own sentient being; why must indriyas exist? This reasoning should be deliberated upon. Although one knows that regarding the indriyas and physical supports each manifests its own and the other's, can it also condition those of other spheres?
