The Commentary states: In the anāsrava state, associated with supreme wisdom, although it lacks deliberation and conceptual discrimination that grasps marks, because it is limpid and pure, it is not like the sāsrava whose entity is turbid. Now, even if they lack functional efficacy, it also manifests their images; that is, it cognizes non-existence, the images of mind, etc., and the images of unconditioned dharmas, etc. Because it directly realizes them, it knows non-existence to be non-existence, and therefore cognizes non-existence and so forth.
