The Commentary states: This refers to non-Buddhists who adhere to a distinct phenomenon called 'spontaneity' (svabhāva) which, without awaiting multiple conditions, perpetually and instantaneously produces fruits; non-Buddhists in this land hold similar doctrines. Adherences to Mahābrahmā, time, space, and so forth are likewise, and are identically dispelled by this. Here, the doctrine of spontaneity is merely raised as an example.
