The Commentary states: In the explanation that follows, there are three explanations in all: the first is extensive, and the latter two are brief. In the first extensive one, the first half of the verse is explained as cause and condition, as in Vasubandhu's Mahāyānasaṃgraha, fascicle one, and the Yogācārabhūmi-śāstra, fascicle fifty-one. The latter half explains saṃsāric transmigration and its cessation in the same way.
