The Commentary states: This is the fourth line below. Bodhisattvas who have entered the bhūmis are called 'the excellent'; because they tally with vijñapti-mātra, they are able to realize and understand the ālayavijñāna, and do not give rise to denigration or conceptually constructed ātmagrāha. Therefore, I, the World-Honoured One, properly disclose it to them. Having already attained it in their own stage, to make them once more clearly comprehend it purely, it is now further shown to them. Not having yet attained subsequent bhūmis, to make them advance in cultivation, it is now disclosed to them. Question: If so, if it is not spoken to those prior to the bhūmis, how can they hear of it? What would they practice and cultivate, so that upon later entering the bhūmis they attain true vijñapti-mātra?
