The Commentary states: Conditioning another's nimittabhāga of form, and form transformed by another consciousness of one's own body, are also like this. Asvabhāva says in fascicle four: "Because there is no active functioning," when such a mind arises, through the non-destructive power of dependently originated dharmas, two images arise upon the single essence of the dharma: the nimitta and darśana relate to each other as neither identical nor different. The various minds and mental factors, by the power of dependent origination, by their very nature arise like this: just as taking the fundamental archetype as condition, one again sees the archetype, so taking mind as condition, one again sees one's own mind; there is no separate seeing of external minds and the like. The Viṃśikā-vijñaptimātratāsiddhi verse says: "How is it that knowledge of another's mind / does not know the object as it truly is? / Just as with the knowledge that knows one's own mind, / it does not know it as does the realm of the Buddha." This is explained extensively in that commentary.
