The Commentary states: Although it has discursive contemplation, it is not clear and sharp because its ideation (saṃjñā) is subtle; hence it is not the latter three faculties. However, to say that it is the faculty of having known or of having fully known also presents no contradiction. Because it does not conform to the three faculties by not being sharp and clear, it is not spoken of as such, but not that it is not subsumed by them. If it were not subsumed, the three uncontaminated faculties would not completely subsume the uncontaminated faculties.
