The Commentary states: This refers to the activity of the action performed and the instruments of action, as adzes, axes, and the like possess functions of chopping, felling, and so forth. "Excluding seeds, the other auxiliary present conditions" means that, excluding internal and external seeds producing active manifestations, seeds producing seeds, active manifestations producing seeds, and immediate auxiliary conditions, all the other remote auxiliary conditions of all phenomena are included.
