The Commentary states: In the sacred teachings it is said that the two graspings are called 'grasping'. Since all defiled minds manifest resembling the marks of that which grasps and what is grasped, they all possess grasping. For it is not the case that a mind possessing grasping is not called grasping, nor is it the case that a mind devoid of grasping resembles the two graspings. All sūtras and treatises contain this statement. It is stated thus in both the fourth fascicle of the Mahāyānasaṃgraha and the Madhyāntavibhāga.
