The Commentary states: An analogy is cited to demonstrate and establish [this], because the self-authenticating part (svasaṃvittibhāga) and the like, when cognizing the seeing part (darśanabhāga) and the like, do not arise bearing their image-components (nimittabhāga) and yet obtain the designation of 'object of cognition' (ālambana). This non-discriminative wisdom is distinct from the subsequent wisdom (pṛṣṭhalabdha-jñāna), so it necessarily has no image-component (nimittabhāga), as was explained earlier in the seventh fascicle under the four conditions (pratyaya). If that were so, the king of mind (cittarāja) should be named as an object of cognition because, without manifesting an image of it, it arises bearing its essential character. This too is not so, because it is not that which is reflected upon and relied upon. The rest of the text can be understood. This concludes the first [section], the discrimination between having a seeing part and an image part.
