第四、外難云：內聲屈曲，不能詮表；聲屈曲故；如絃管聲。論主為作有法差別相違，內聲屈曲。能生名，不能生名，是有法差別故。量云：汝內聲屈曲，不能生名；聲屈曲故；如絃管聲。此就他宗難。

Fourth, the opponent objects, saying: 'Internal modulations of sound cannot express meaning; because they are modulations of sound; just like the sounds of strings and pipes.' The author of the treatise constructs for them a contradiction with a distinction of the property-bearer: with respect to internal modulations of sound, 'being able to generate names' and 'not being able to generate names' are distinctions of the property-bearer. The inference states: 'Your internal modulations of sound cannot generate names; because they are modulations of sound; just like the sounds of strings and pipes.' This is an objection formulated according to the other school.
