「我、法若無，依何假說」者：所似既無，說誰為能似？能似假說無故。共法之似亦不成。不得別解義依於體等假，世間、聖教二似俱不成故。

Regarding 'If the self and dharmas do not exist, based on what are provisional designations made?': since that which is resembled does not exist, what can be spoken of as that which resembles? Because the provisional designation of that which resembles does not exist, the resemblance of common properties is also not established. One cannot separately explain that the meaning relies on the provisionality of the substance, etc., because both kinds of resemblance—the worldly and that of the noble teaching—would fail to be established.
