或分為三，謂相、性、位。前二十四頌明唯識相；次之一頌明唯識性；後之五頌明唯識位。初中有二：一、標；二、釋。謂初一頌半略釋難以標宗；後二十二頌半隨所標而廣釋。廣中有三：一廣三能變體；二廣依識所變；三廣由假說言。

Or it is divided into three: namely, characteristics, nature, and stages. The first twenty-four verses clarify the characteristics of consciousness-only; the next one verse clarifies the nature of consciousness-only; the final five verses clarify the stages of consciousness-only. In the first part there are two: 1. designation; 2. explanation. That is to say, the first verse and a half briefly resolves objections so as to designate the central theme; the subsequent twenty-two and a half verses broadly explain in accordance with what was designated. In the broad [explanation] there are three: first, broadly explaining the substance of the three transforming [consciousnesses]; second, broadly explaining what is transformed based on consciousness; third, broadly explaining the statement "due to metaphorical designation".
