As for that which is nominally established as non-possession/non-accomplishment (asamanvāgama) by inversion of this: among defiled phenomena, it is briefly divided into six pairs. According to the Abhidharmasamuccaya-bhāṣya, if the functional capacity is suppressed, it is also called non-accomplishment; but if the substance of the seed remains, it is also called accomplishment: first, the pair of darśana[-mārga] and bhāvanā[-mārga]; second, the pair of worldly and supramundane; third, the pair of actual manifestation and seed; fourth, the pair of the six consciousnesses and the seventh consciousness; fifth, the pair of afflictive [obstacle] (kleśāvaraṇa) and cognitive [obstacle] (jñeyāvaraṇa); sixth, the pair of seed and residual habit (vāsanā). First, regarding the pair of darśana[-mārga] and bhāvanā[-mārga]: in the darśanamārga of the three vehicles, all conceptually constructed forms of the two obstacles in the three realms are called non-accomplished, whether as seeds or actual manifestations, as appropriate; those to be severed by the bhāvanāmārga in the three realms are called accomplished or non-accomplished as appropriate. In the darśanamārga of the two vehicles, according to what was previously suppressed, the defilements to be severed on the bhāvanāmārga that have been severed are called non-accomplished; those not yet suppressed and not yet severed are also called accomplished, because they are not what is counteracted and do not obstruct vision; the bhāvanāmārga is to be understood analogously.
