4.68

以心為本有漏法，因心而生無漏法。依心住故結無漏心，受彼熏下結有漏。又初總句，因心生是有漏，依心住是無漏，後兩句釋成。又以心為本，謂無為法，因心顯故。因心而生有漏法，依心而住無漏法。以心為本即無為之別句，亦有為之總句。

With the mind as the root, contaminated phenomena arise conditioned by the mind; uncontaminated phenomena, because they abide relying on the mind, conclude the uncontaminated mind; "receiving its perfuming" below concludes the contaminated. Moreover, the first general clause: arising conditioned by the mind applies to the contaminated; abiding relying on the mind applies to the uncontaminated; the latter two clauses explain and establish them. Furthermore, "with the mind as the root" refers to unconditioned phenomena, because they are manifested conditioned by the mind. Arising conditioned by the mind are contaminated phenomena; abiding relying on the mind are uncontaminated phenomena. "With the mind as the root" is thus a distinct clause for the unconditioned, and also a general clause for the conditioned.
