6.38

《論》云：此頌所言等。問：相、見等取由業所招，云與取俱。今三熏習，我執習氣，非業所招，如何得云由業、習氣二取習俱？答：前云由業與習氣俱能生現果，是親疎緣。今此亦望業、習二俱能生現果親疎差別，不云業招我執習氣。

The treatise says: "What this verse says," etc. Question: Since the grasping of the object and seeing components is recruited by karma, it is said to be concurrent with grasping. Now, among the three perfumings, the vāsanā of ātmagrāha is not recruited by karma; how can it be said that by karma and vāsanā the vāsanās of the two graspings are concurrent? Answer: Previously it was said that karma and vāsanā together can generate the present fruit as direct and indirect conditions. Here also, looking at the direct and indirect differences in how both karma and vāsanā can generate the present fruit, it does not say that karma recruits the vāsanā of ātmagrāha.
