6.55

不造新業，不言異生有學，餘三無明皆悉不起，不造新業，所有故業由隨眠力未永斷滅，暫觸還吐，准此後勝，既無評家任意取捨。

they do not create new karma; it does not say that for pṛthagjanas in training, none of the other three kinds of ignorance arise at all and they do not create new karma. All past karma, through the force of anuśayas, has not yet been permanently extinguished; touching it momentarily, they throw it back out. In accordance with this, the latter is superior. Since no commentator has definitively decided, one may adopt or reject either at will.
