今謂：不爾。如四善根諸處皆言初無數積智、福滿已方起善根，豈非初劫滿心所攝？此雖離第十地別云等覺，亦第三攝。即屬滿心，非滿心外。若許出十地外更經多時後方入佛，應出初地等亦經多時方入後地。

We now say: This is not so. Just as with the four roots of goodness, it is everywhere said that only after completing the accumulation of wisdom and merit of the first incalculable [kalpa] do the roots of goodness arise; are they not subsumed under the culmination mind of the first kalpa? Although this is spoken of separately from the tenth stage as equal awakening, it is also subsumed under the third [kalpa]. That is, it belongs to the culmination mind, not outside the culmination mind. If one admits that outside the ten stages one passes through much more time before entering Buddhahood, then upon exiting the first stage, etc., one should also pass through much time before entering the subsequent stage.
