《論》：「金剛喻定無所熏識」等者。《要集》云：「由現行多聞能熏力故，法爾種子增長勝用，故下文云『此四種姓雖皆本有，而要熏發方得現行，因位漸增，果位圓滿』等」。今謂：此判見道可爾，以見道前無現無漏熏起新種，至修道已，有現能熏熏得新種，若言及其成佛，法爾種生。

On the Śāstra's phrase "in the vajropamasamādhi there is no consciousness to be perfumed": the Yaoji states: "Due to the perfuming power of active extensive hearing (bahuśruta), the innate bījas increase their superior functions; therefore the text below says: 'Although these four lineages are all fundamentally possessed, they must be perfumed and stimulated before they can become active; gradually increasing in the causal stage, they become complete in the resultant stage', and so forth." I say now: this determination may be accepted for the darśanamārga, because before the darśanamārga there are no active anāsrava [dharmas] to perfume and initiate new bījas; but once the bhāvanāmārga is reached, there are active perfumers that perfume and acquire new bījas; if one claims that up until one achieves Buddhahood, they only arise from innate bījas [that is incorrect].
