詳曰：依種為正，若言彼位有現第八故依立者，二無心定亦有第八，何不依立而依種耶？若言是果下依種者，種被現熏種應非果，種上功能翻往往時定為果何失？

I examine this and say: Relying on the seeds is correct. If one says that because there is an active eighth [consciousness] in that state, it is established based on it, the two mindless absorptions also have the eighth [consciousness]; why are they not established based on it, but rather based on the seeds? If one says that because it is a fruit it cannot be based on the seeds: seeds are perfumed by the active [consciousness], so seeds should not be fruits; what fault is there if the capacity on the seeds, being reversed from former times, definitely constitutes the fruit?
