答：按《俱舍論》第十九云：「毘婆沙師作如是說：欲貪等體即是隨眠。」又云：「阿毘達摩依實相說，即諸煩惱說名隨眠。」故本論說欲貪隨眠三根相應，既曰相應，明知現也。有義問云：大乘既以染污種子為隨眠性，外亦難云：汝宗惑種應非隨眠；名貪等故；如現貪等。

Answer: Fascicle 19 of the Kośa states: "The Vaibhāṣikas say: 'The substances of sensual greed and so forth are themselves dormant tendencies.'" It also says: "The Abhidharma speaks according to real marks, stating that the defilements themselves are named dormant tendencies." Hence the root treatise states that the dormant tendency of sensual greed is associated with three faculties. Since it says 'associated', one clearly knows they are active manifestations. Another opinion raises an objection: Since the Mahāyāna takes defiled seeds to be the nature of dormant tendencies, the opponent may also challenge: Your school's seeds of delusion should not be dormant tendencies, because they are named greed and so forth, just like active greed and so forth.
