答：撿文者誤。疏主意取無色為難，以無色界唯緣種故。既言彼識緣無量等執受之境，明知第八緣種功能。

Answer: The one who inspected the text made an error. The Commentary master's intention was to take the formless realm as the objection, because the formless realm cognizes only seeds. Since it says that that consciousness cognizes immeasurable and other grasped objects, we clearly know that the eighth [consciousness] cognizes the functions of seeds.
