問：天眼、耳根既與異熟眼、耳同處，同取境不？若同取者，云何異熟而能遠取？又如何能發眼、耳通？若不發者，如何同取？若不同取二根同處，云何得有取、不取耶？

Question: Since the divine eye and ear faculties occupy the same place as the vipāka eye and ear, do they grasp objects together or not? If they grasp them together, how can the vipāka [faculty] grasp far away? And how could it produce the clairvoyance of the eye and ear? If it does not produce them, how could they grasp together? If they do not grasp together while the two faculties occupy the same place, how could there be both grasping and non-grasping?
