問：第八既緣法處實色，五亦緣不？若不緣者，聖變魚等，凡應不見。若許緣者，五十四說法處攝色名無見對，復云何通？

Question: Since the eighth consciousness cognizes actual form included in the mental dharmas base (dharmāyatana), do the five [sense-consciousnesses] cognize it or not? If they do not cognize it, then when an ārya transforms fish and the like, ordinary people should not see them. If you grant that they cognize them, how is fascicle 54—which says that form included in the dharmāyatana is non-visible and non-resistant—to be reconciled?
